The 6 Best Dog Collars For a Husky
1. Dashin’ Dogz Designer Dog Collar – Best Overall
The Dashin’ Dogz Designer Dog Collar is our choice for the best overall collar for husky. It features a designer print that you can get in a few variations and its odor-proof and chew proof. It won’t absorb odor features a waterproof outer layer with design and a durable heavy cloth inner layer.
We found it to fit well on our dogs’ neck, and it seems like it will last a while. It’s firm but not stiff and our dogs liked it. The only real downside we noticed is that the collar is quite heavy, but it didn’t seem to bother our pets.
2. Tuff Pupper Dog Collar – Best Value
The Tuff Pupper Heavy Duty Dog Collar is our choice for the best value husky collar. We believe it is the best collar for husky for the money because it’s durable, reflective, and features an integrated elastic handle for better control over your pet. This collar is lightweight fray-proof nylon and comes in multiple sizes.
The only negative thing we could say about this low-cost collar is that the elastic handle does stretch out with a lot of use. Once stretched out, it doesn’t affect the usefulness of the collar, but it does look bad and can get caught on things.
The Beirui Genuine Leather Dog Collar is our premium choice husky dog collar. This collar features durable 100% imported leather, a heavy-duty belt-style buckle, and sturdy D-ring to clip a leash. It also includes a personalized nameplate in case your pet gets lost.
We loved the look and strength of this dog collar. The personalized plate is also beneficial. The only negatives we noticed about this collar besides its high price is that it has a strong leather preserver smell that could potentially irritate your pet’s skin at first.
4. EXCELLENT ELITE SPANKER Dog Collar
The EXCELLENT ELITE SPANKER DG115 is a military-style dog collar that features two nylon layers for strength and has a padded lining to increase the comfort level for your pet. It has five adjustable points to ensure a snug fit. A sturdy metal D-ring makes it easy to connect a leash, and it won’t bend from pulling or tugging.
While we were using this collar, we liked its professional look, and our dogs were not able to back out of it like they can on some other collars. We couldn’t get the end of the collar to stay it the elastic loop that’s supposed to keep it in place. It kept falling out, which caused it to dangle and could lead to our pet getting free. Also, we could see some wear in the collar after just a few walks, so these collars are not very durable.

5. Black Rhino Neoprene Dog Collar
The Black Rhino Neoprene Padded Dog Collar is another collar on our list that features reflective stitching for much safer walking. It’s also lightweight has thick neoprene padding to increase the comfort level of your pet.
What we didn’t like was that it was hard to undo the buckle when removing the collar and the metal grommets bend and rust. The collar was also tight on one of our dogs, and loose on the other with no way to adjust it better.

6. Max and Neo Nylon Dog Collar
The Max and Neo Nylon Buckle Reflective Dog Collar is the last model on our list. This model husky dog collar comes in a wide variety of colors, and the company donates one dog collar to the animal rescue for every collar purchased. It also features reflective stitching and a plastic quick-release safety latch.
What we didn’t like about this brand was the poor quality construction left some sharp edges on the collar that disturbed our dogs after a few days. We were able to trim off the sharp edges, but it was after we noticed our dogs complaining. There is also to pins to keep the size and our dogs were able to work the collars loose. Finally, the loop that holds the dog tags is a fabric that can rip and lose your tags.
Let’s discuss some of the most important things to look for when choosing a collar for your husky.
Huskies are strong dogs that love to play and pull. If your collar isn’t durable, your husky can snap the collar and break loose. Improperly designed dog collars can also fray apart, which will weaken then over time.
Having a collar that has reflective stitching is never a bad idea. Reflective stitching helps you and everyone else know exactly where your pet is at all times in low-light situations. In high-traffic areas, these collars are critical for the safety of your pet.
Putting It On
There are two common ways to put the collar on your dog the quick clip and the buckle style.
The quick clip is also known as a snap collar and this type has a clip on each end that snap together and hold the collar in place. These are the most common style of collars in use. They are easy to use and are suitable for most situations.
The downside to this collar is that this type is a little more lightweight and may not hold up to active dogs or aggressive dogs that pull. The clip is usually plastic, but you can find some made from aluminum or other metals if you look around. The collar itself is often nylon or some other type of lightweight and durable fabric.
We recommend thoroughly inspecting this type of collar before purchasing to ensure a durable, high-quality collar that won’t fail when you need it.
Buckle style collars are usually much more substantial than quick clips. This type of collar resembles a belt and fastens to your pet in the same way. Most collars use two metal pins that push through a metal grommet to it in place. These collars can hold up to the extreme pulling and tugging that huskies are quite capable of doing. These are usually leather or similar extremely durable material.
The downside to these collars is they are often huge and heavy for your pet, especially if it’s smaller than a husky. This collar is often less flexible and can be uncomfortable for your pet, especially at first. It’s also common to use harsh chemicals to preserve the leather that can be harmful to your pet sometimes. Using leather is discouraged, but there are suitable synthetic leathers.
We recommend buckle style collars for aggressive and strong dogs but always suggest thoroughly inspecting a new collar for signs of chemical use before putting it on your dog and always try to get a leather alternative when possible.
With any luck, your pet will wear their collar for a long time, so comfort is just as critical as durability. If the collar is stiff, pulls at their fur, bothers their skin, or jabs them with sharp edges, your pets not going to enjoy wearing the collar all that much. Your pet will always tell you if they are not happy and we recommend paying attention. Your dog will struggle to get out of the collar more when it’s uncomfortable, and the more your pet fiddles with it the more likely it is to figure out how to remove it.
Hopefully, these reviews and buyers guide has got you closer to a new collar for your husky. We recommend the Dashin’ Dogz Designer Dog Collar, our best overall. This collar is extremely durable, comes I plenty of sizes and is waterproof. The Tuff Pupper Heavy Duty Dog Collar is our best value, and it’s another excellent choice for a durable husky collar and it’s reflective so you can feel safer around traffic. If neither of these options suits your needs, hopefully, our buyer’s guide will help you feel more comfortable as you shop around.
